Babie Update and Sammy test results
Just got back from TED with Spot and her kits. This visit wasn't
really for a checkup, but for Dr Haney to look them over and get his pick of the litter. He pretty much pegged their personalities after just watching them for a couple minutes. They're old enough. about 10 weeks, now for them to be separated from Mom. Everybody is on solid food, but still nurse a little. I'm still trying to find something they like, well, somethings besides the Hills x/d that I buy for Sam, and she shares with LB. They're eating the purina kitten food, but only grudgingly. So today we came home with dry Science Diet kitten food. Guess it doesn't really matter, since I'll be giving them all up soon. Still, I'd like to figure it out before I send them to their foreverhomes. He said he'd take his pick home now, but agreed with me to wait another week until Spot has them completely weaned. So, I'll take them all back Friday and he'll take his final pick. Right now he's leaning towards Shadow and Pinky (newly named, he's the one with three black spots down his spine, and white ears except for a little black on one ear). I find it amazing that he was able to pick the two most outgoing guys, which is what he wants, after only observing them for a couple minutes. He's been telling patients about the Spot and her bitties, but so far hasn't found any takers for Spot and the other two. Course the other reason I was there today was to go over Sammy's test results. I figured the test showed Sammy was over her urinary infection or he would have made a point of talking to me last week when I picked her up, so I wasn't worried (much, course you always worry a little when you're waiting). Yep, infection gone. White cells still slightly elevated, but he told me that's normal for some cats and nothing to be concerned with. Still, it's a good thing she went for her normal checkup. She showed no signs of being sick and we caught it early. -- Steve Touchstone, faithful servant of Sammy and Little Bit [remove Junk for email] Home Page: http://www.sirinet.net/~stouchst/index.html Cat Pix: http://www.sirinet.net/~stouchst/animals.html |
