Uni-berlin news server

I'm not that impressed with it. Once again my computer says "cannot connect
to the server" It keeps happening.
I'm glad I decided to run the wanadoo newsserver as well, I'm posting via
that now.

Obviously it's working now.

If I did my time zone calculation correctly, I think the recent
downtime corresponded to the middle of the night in Germany. I bet
they were doing some sort of maintenance!

It was down this morning for some time, for the first time since I
started using it a couple of years ago. Had to resort to my ISP's news
server for my rpca fix in the morning.

I think so. I couldn't access at that time either. It happens very
infrequently.

And that's amazing in itself, when you consider the beating their news
servers have to be taking (it sometimes seems that half the internet
is using that news feed). I can think of quite a few people who could
take lessons from their stsff on how to keep their systems up and
running!
