Poor lad, it has be dire circumstances before he will consider using
a
litterbox.
-5 is dire circumstances in anyone's book. Brrrr.

Robbie has informed me that he's not getting up until the weather gets
warmer! HRFL went out, came back in and registered his disgust at the
cold... then went back to bed!

I was away today. When I came home this evening I found the furnace
out of order and the house cold. Charlie sitting and reading the
paper. He was wearing a warmer shirt than usual, but it hadn't
registered with him that 1) it was cold the the house. 2) two cold
cats were glaring at him in disgust. and 3) he could have certainly
lit the gas log for their comfort.

asked to go out this morning when it was still about -3.
He changed his mind when he saw how cold it was, returned and did the
most massive pee in KFC's clean litterbox. He must have been saving it
all night as it took him a whole minute to do it! and it definitely
ruined the litterbox as it spread and spread and spread.

Even MORE "dire" if one is accustomed to Fahrenheit and misread your "-5C"
as "-50"! 8-)

I am accustomed to Fahrenheit myself. Maybe you forgot that Britain used to
use this scale too. Until I was teenage or maybe a bit older. My mind is
still set for wanting to know what the weather is going to be like in
fahrenheit.

My tough little Finnish-Estonian Russian Blue is out right now in -9C.
Doesn't show any sign of wanting to come inside, either.

Caliban is staying inside, though.

Boyfie says Caliban is very sensible, as he would expect from his
look-alike.

She reminds me of a tiny Icelandic friend of mine who would be amused at
how we New Yorkers responded to winter. She would shake her head, and say
"You're not a Wiking."

Funnily enough I am "sort of" a Viking. When my brother was studying for
his biology degree he worked at a hospital that did transplants and offered
DNA tests. He did a DNA test on himself and it went far far back to Danish.
So we *are* Vikings! g
I wish I'd still got the genes to tolerate very cold weather.
