protecting cat's sore neck
Hello group,
My cat has a sore patch on her neck. She's "under the vet", as it were. It's possible this sore is ringworm related - it as a small patch on her cheek, and over the course of a few weeks has migrated to under her chin, the fur growing back in its wake. She's on oral ringworm antibiotic (itraconazole), and topical cortisone. The sore place is more like a scabby eczema patch than ringworm (as I understand it ) - she just tested positive for ringworm. Anyway, because this scabby patch (about an inch across) in the fold of her neck / chin is where it is, it's far too easy for her to scrat, and she keeps opening it up. An "Elizabethan" collar would sit right on the wound, I think. What might we do to stop her scratting? Has anyone seen this kind of symptom in ringworm? TIA Jim 1) scram at jimlawton 2) dot info |
