A trip to prepare for the Jellicle Ball

she adds a small chest cooler with a few beers, an ash tray, and a
cuban cigar. She doesn't know if he drinks beer or smokes cigars,
but it seemed so the finishing touch to make him feel welcome.

Once she leaves, there is a small riffle of curtin and a padding of
soft feet. A small sound of approval then silence reigns in the
empty room.

Wow! Such luxurious accommodations! Thank you! Um... where am I,
anyway? Where's the Jellicle Ball being held this year?

Daisy-chan who had snuck up to see Unca Adam's reaction to the room
brushes his ankles then flopps on the end of his bed and explains.

'Hai! Maria offered her castle which is a ghosty place where the veil
is thin between usselves anna de bridge. De ghosty line marks de 2
halves ob de castle anna folks get to chose which side to be on butted
all de 3rd floor is ghosty. Wez gotted da ghosty room unner urs.
Iffen you hear some 'yips' at nite, its jus Cash anna Aunti Mabel
chasin squirrels inna dere sleeps.

Wez figured you'd lik here as Louise might be able to peekz in anna
effin iffin she kaint cross ober, mebby she kin see u fur a bit asa u
sleep. Naow assa wez got u settled, I kin hear Aunti Mabel tellin
maiself anna Cash to get dressied up fur evenin ball."

Slinking up, she rubs a cheek along Unca Adams then laughing at her
audacity runs off to answer a 'yip' from downstairs. It is obviously a
call to get dressed and quit pussy-footing around as the others wait
her below. After all, Aunti Mabel is far too arthritic to tie Cash's
bowtie and he's HOPELESS at it, the big goof.

Adam grins as she leaves then wonders, how they knew to prepare a room
for a man a week before he even knew where they place was? Shaking his
head, he realizes cats are not just mysterous, they are often so for a
reason.

He decides to invesigate the beer cooler and finds one he likes.
Removing the cap he get an impish look and peers over the balcony.
Yup. He pitches it and there is a little tinkle sound as it lands then
a bunch of others as Daisy-chan starts chasing it. An amuzed Aunti
Mabel collects her to finish dressing after she's had time to play.

Eyes sparkling, they finish dressing and head down to the ball.
