Dan and Nancy Mahoney wrote: He is adorable! Did Nancy's job situation resolve itself? My husband asks me every day... Nope. She's *still* working as a contractor, *still* unsure from week to week whether she'll have a job next week, and *still* waiting to hear from the County about the job she applied for with them. Thanks for asking, though! Dan I'm sorry that things have not resolved themselves yet. I'll tell Oliver to Purr harder! Margaret -- Margaret Fine |

Sorry to hear that she's still waiting for some word. I get the girls to renew their purrs. Also, Rocky, the newest member of the household, has learned to purr now, and he'll be happy to add his purrs. AWWWW, Rocky's PURRING. That is so kewl. Steve, you and the girls will be the making of that boy yet. Pam S. pleased and doing the 'dance |

6 weeks after his rescue from the parking lot at Stater Bros Markets Samuel Redkitten has adjusted nicely to household life, and has become quite a character. His latest photo is online at http://www.webfolks.us/dan/photos/ He is now a pound heavier than his one-week-older adopted sister Tabitha (Tabitha is 3 pounds, Samuel is 4). For the longest time our older girl Cleopatra has been Nancy's pillow-cat. Now I have a pillow-cat - Samuel loves to share a pillow with his humans. Dan Awwww, he's as cute as he is lucky! Please give him a big ole smooch on top of the head for me. I'm glad to hear he's healthy and happy and doing so well. :-) ------ Krista |

Steve, you and the girls will be the making of that boy yet. Pam S. pleased and doing the 'dance Yep, Rocky is really making progress. There was a time not long ago when all I was was a food provider, but now he wants some petting before he goes to eat. He's also beginning to be a fussy eater, where he once would gorge himself on any food put in front of him. That could be a by-product of de-worming. He wasn't exactly skinny before, but now he eats a lot less and has gained weight. He still dislikes being inside for any length of time, but the time he'll tolerate before pacing in front of the door wanting out has grown from about 10 minutes to over an hour. I think he has decided this is a pretty safe area, as he seems to hang around the apartment complex most of the day. My next door neighbor was amazed a couple weeks ago when Rocky actually approached, gave him a headbut and looked up asking for some ear scritches. He, the neighbor, comes out to smoke and has been making overtures to Rocky for over a year, and this was the first time Rocky allowed him to pet him. I'm hoping that, over time, he'll stay in for longer and longer periods, so that I can keep him inside when winter comes. He's pretty streetwise and I know he has a couple warm places out of the weather, but I'd like him inside. Another project I have going is to try to teach him to play, as it seems he never learned how. Most of the toys scare him. The only thing he enjoys is the old standard feather on a string. Last night Sammy rediscovered her turbo-scracther when she started batting the ball around Rocky ran to the door and wanted out. |
