Hey Tak, Massachusetts isn't that far from New Brunswick. YOu can give Betty friends and help Kristy at the same time. They do sound like lovely boys, but whenever someone has a cat within 1500 miles of me, your perception of the continent seems to shrink! Oh, now you've got Betty started, and she's looking at me with huge, earnest eyes and tugging on my wrist. Hey, I"d be willing to chip in for the cost of gas, if Betty gets some companions and Kristi gets peace of mind! Yowie |

The Evil 3 will be either beside me in a/c comfort (more or less) in carriers rigged in shotgun seat of my small pickup (it's no fun moving across country w/ bellowing cats, snip I don't think that flying with your cats will be an option for you at all. Not if you want them in the cabin with you. The airlines have a 1 pet per passenger in the cabin rule, so you'd only be able to bring one with you. Of course you could put them all in carriers and do the baggage compartment thing, that would work especially since your flight wouldn't be all that long. I'd never think of shipping Vino as baggage from Thailand to Vancouver since it's about 16 hours in the air plus stop overs. But from Florida to Colorado should be do-able. Of course the driving thing is always a good option too. Good luck with your move :-) That's a big change in scenery, going from Florida to Colorado! It's like the opposite of Florida - high altitude, cool, dry, landlocked. You actually need to use your lungs in order to breathe. Here at sea level, I almost feel like I could get sufficient oxygen by just keeping my nostrils open, the air is so thick. My brother calls Florida "The Big Terrarium." Only real unpleasantness outside of winter weather I think will be 1) baking adjustments will be made (ever notice those tiny directions on cake mixes, etc. for "high altitudes"?) and 2) here in south FL I have a nice head of very wavy, large-volume hair. In CO it becomes immediately stick-straight, stringy, and un-buoyant. Lack of humidity, a strange phenomenum (sp?). If you have fro-curly nappy hair here, I guess it would become "very wavy" there, I dunno. A good thing re low humidity is bugs don't like it much, and you don't sweat when it gets hot there, which it does, but like CA non-coastal temps, as in Sacramento, oven-like, not sweaty-sticky like here high temps. Yeah, I don't think the thinner air is a big deal either. I actually like the consistency of air in Colorado better than here in Massachusetts. When going to Colorado, I think you need to remember to take a hat, because they don't have much in the way of clouds and trees around those parts! BTW: I still have that cute little video of you talking to Betty curled up in her catseat. Have you made any more Betty video clips? Great! I set up the web page the way I did hoping that people who download and save the video. If I had embedded the video into a web page, it's still actually fairly easy to save, but most people don't seem to know how to do it (the user can use download utilities, check their browser cache folders, find the link and make an anchor from it, etc.) I probably should take more videos of Betty, though I haven't. That clip was actually my very first test of the video camera, and the only time I used it on Betty. Other times, I used it for more conventional things like birthday parties (my own, in fact), and weddings (not my own, ah well). |

I had to use those high altitude directions in El Pasta Texas, as the place is at 4,000 ft. One difference I've noticed with humidity and lack thereof: when I'm back in the land of dry, the skin on my hands (front and back) peels off in sheets once per year. I don't miss that part of being back in Idaho. I lived with skin lotion on my hands in order to try to forestall the problem. Pam S. |

Har. Don't get me started on "skin", Pam. Here slight tan year-round, good
skin tone on face, my gene-pool bequests few facial wrinkles. In MileHigh, to go along with the straight, lank hair, in a few days facial skin appears a strange off-paler, and wrinkles like the nearby Rockies, viewed from air, appear around eye and mouth areas. Relatives keep saying, "Drink more water! Carry water!" but I can't see that it improves things a lot, appearance-wise. OTOH, one of the other relatives, visiting from L.I.,N.Y., failed bigtime to drink enough liquids (a chain smoker) and in a week ended up in the ER, dehydrated.
