Default New to me anyway

There is an area next to the highway near here where chickens seem to live
and run free. No one seems to own or care for them, and they have been in
that area the 35 years we have lived here. I'm quite sure they get some
help but no one claims to own them. They have only caused traffic problems
once that I know of. One flew onto a guys windshield and got stuck on the
wiper. He drove to the police department where they removed the indignant
bird and took it to animal control. It was found a "proper" home.

Yesterday a black hen approached the edge of the road with a whole passel of
coal black tiny baby chicks. I've never seen black baby chicks before.
Wonder what breed they are. And now I'm really sure someone is infiltrating
the ranks of this wild flock. There was a time when they were just Banties.
