Default Pets, scritches and purrs deserved for Daisy-chan!

All give a bow (or a bow wow with a wag) to Daisy-chan. Here's why.

I hurt my neck again (long story made short, DDD with 4 herniations, 2 in
neck). I've been in pain the last 6 days. Daisy-chan, my once high
semi-feral has gone totally lap kitty. It helps alot. She loves to sleep
right between my legs perched up on my belly and purr. (Ontop of the
blanket, not getting kinky here! Grin!).

Anyways, 24 hours ago we took in our second rescue dog. (Those in
RPD.Behavior will have the fuller story on Sammy). Now as amazing as I
think dogs and cats are, especially when they get along, this one is unique.
With her long standing buddy Cash-pup in the bedroom, and me in the
livingroom (sofa best for my back/neck), and Sammy on his blanki (not
crated) in the livingroom, I expected to be cat free for the night. Nope.

NOTHING, not even a new dog in the house was gonna stop her from her self
appointed care of her Meowmie! In she sailed with tail high, sniffing at
the new dog's general direction then hopped right up and settled in for the
night. It was a sort of 'love my meowmie, love me' moment.

I'm proud of her.

Aw, what a brave, GOOD girl to be there for her meow-my. She certainly does
deserve some reward for both her bravery and dedication to you (shrimpies,
maybe?).

Mega healing purrs on the way for your neck to get better really quickly and
give you no trouble in the future. *FOUR* herniations? My gawd Carol, why
are you not in traction???! I'm sure I don't have to tell *you* this, but
don't let anyone with a scalpel anywhere near you unless you can get rid of
the pain no other way on earth. If you do *have* to resort to surgery, I
would suggest getting the surgeon to give you a list of people who would be
willing to contact you to let you know how they were treated and if they got
any relief or any extra pain after the surgery. Anyway, as good a
researcher as you are I'm sure you'll dig up every fact that can be found
before making that decision.

Oh yes, they are getting along famously! Sammy apparently was taught sofa's
are for people. He's enjoying the 'pet sofa' right now behind me. Cash
climbed up (there's a box as a step to make it easier) then Sammy came over
and sniffed so Cash moved over. They are laying there snoring with heads on
opposite ends, feets and tails tangled in the middle.

Sammy's as calm as a Georgia pond at midnight. I'm thinking he's enyoying
Cash's calm friendlyness and being away from the rambunctious lab at the
fosters.

Hehehe she gets plenty of goodies! She got 2 shrimp tails with her
breakfast (wasn't sure if Sammy could handle them but he got the rest, head
and all). I even broke out the good duck consomme (thick as set jello when
cold) for their nooners and some saved bits of duck meats. Sammy almost ran
to the bathroom he now realizes is where he gets fed (Cash is too much of a
chow hound and it will be months before I even try feediung them in the same
room). Poor Sammy, I think treats have been rare in his life. At the
fosters, it was a spoon or so of cold canned dogfood in the morning out of
the fridge, added to his morning kibble.

Grin, they never all 4 go off at once. I'm actually feeling just a little
better today which is oddly early. This particular one has been bad since
2001. The others came along later. Usually little change for 2 weeks then
slowly a bit better. By 3-3.5 weeks, 'normal for me levels'.

Yup. I'm holding off. I have one bit of luck. My spine doc is counted one
of the top 10 spine surgeons in the nation.

His words paraphrased: delay as long as you can and still smile with quality
of life. The reason is the technology is growing by leaps and bounds.

Kinda like early knee surgery and today.

Aw, that's absolutely amazing that *any* new pet could so effortlessly blend
in to an established clowder - much less a d*g! Purrs coming for continued
calm in the household.

God gawds, he really *is* a good doc - most surgeons whip out their scalpels
before you're out of the door on your first visit!! Mine was supposedly
really good - he has pictures of himself working with NASA scientists on the
effects of microgravity on the human body. But he still didn't know the
difference between C6 - C7 and C4 - C5 (or possibly C5 - C6, I can't
remember just now and I'm too lazy to go look it up). The latter are the
ones that radiate pain down to the ring finger which is where my pain is.
So not only did I get unnecessary surgery, sugary that a magnified my RSD
pain by about 1,000, but he did it on the totally wrong spot!!! Now that I
know where the pain is coming from, it's too late to do anything except make
it worse - I won't have another spinal surgery no matter how tempted I am or
how low I get from the pain. Like the pain pills, I handed that to Ben to
keep from me ;!!

Mega healing purrs still coming - I hope it really is an early recovery for
you.

ARGH! I need to get either a new spell-checker or new glasses so I can see
the "suggestions" for typos - that should have been surgery, *not* sugary.
LOL!
