She died this morning at 6.10am (local time, Western Australia, Monday the
25th of April).

Those of you who have followed her story will know how much she is going to
be missed. She fought a hard battle against the inevitable for the past two
weeks, but ultimately it was just her time to go. She had a very peaceful
end, and was in no pain.

She had so much fight in her, so much life. It's hard to believe she's
really gone. But I feel blessed to have had her share her life with me for
that short couple of months, and privileged to have been able to comfort her
at the end.

Thankyou to everyone who emailed and posted here with your kind thoughts. I
appreciate it more than I can say that you saw what a special cat she was,
and for your purrs for Princess. She was just one of the most amazing gifts
I've ever received (I hope this is making some sense, I'm still just a bit
stunned, I knew it was coming but it's never easy to let go of an animal you
love).

I'll be updating the Princess home page some time later in the week, I'm
putting together a celebration of her short time with me, but for now I just
wanted to let you all know: her fight is over, and she's resting in peace at
last.

I'm so saddened to hear this. But it was a real longshot. I think that at
least she got the love and care she needed. Rest peacefully little Princess

We will light a candle for Princess' safe journey to the RB. She will be
happy there.

I've not wanted to re-visit here, fearing this outcome. it's very
hard to watch a little "beast" blink out in spite of all our best
efforts. It hurts to know those dear little princesses that grace our
lives too often face great suffering. It would be so wonderful if
they found more friends among *us, and were treated like the
wonderful gifts they are.

I'm very sorry, sweetheart,
Geo

Tara:

I wish to extend my condolences and sympathy to you, upon the crossing of
Rainbow Bridge by your beloved feline friend Princess.

Having recently lost a furbaby myself, (Munchkin, 19 years, 2 months, purr
purr) I know all too well that hollow ache, the granite-heavy pain. They
grow so completely close to our hearts that when they leave, they take a
piece of us with them.

Consoling hugs and tears in sympathy, Melody

I've just come to Princess' story, but I wanted to let you know you
have my deepest sympathy. Five years ago my husband and I adopted a
cat who looks very much like Princess. She was seven years old and had
been turned in to the Oregon Humane Society. We took her within
literally minutes of her being euthanized.

And we very often refer to her as Princess.

best wishes,
Jamie
and the feline crew: Mina, Lilith, Kyouju, Ariel, and Eddie
