Our new visitor
About a month or so ago, i noticed this young, fluffy gray cat hanging
around the courtyard of the apartment complex. it seemed quite skittish, but after a few sightings I approached it. It immediately started trilling and rolling on the concrete and streeeetching. It looked like a female from what I could tell. At one time I tried to pick her up and she did NOT like that. But I did notice a collar and bell around her neck, so she must have an owner. The BF has seen her around too, so I'd leave out a handful of kibble behind a flower pot. And of course it would gone hours later. In the past few weeks she has been showing up more frequently. Mostly at night I'll be going out to do laundry or coming home and I'll see her darting between the bushes and tree/flower pots. I'll call to her softly and she'll do her rolling around thing and literally crawl towards my direction and then let me scritch her. The other day I heard Mischief rustling the vertical blinds in the kitchen. I went over and saw she was staring at something intently outside. I peeked out and saw the Gray Kitty with her front paws on the wall and looking up at Mischief, trying to sniff her. Then yesterday I was cooking dinner and looked up at the window and this time saw a Gray Kitty looking BACK at me. She had jumped into the planter pot and now had her paws on the sill. Pretty much every time I see her, either me or the BF will leave out a handful of kibble and she will gobble it up. Once I went out to pet her as she was five feet from my door and she enjoyed the scritches. Then she perked up and stared at my door. I turned and Mischief was peeking out and they looked at each other. Gray Kitty then scampered away. But she still hangs around. And every time I see her she'll do her rolling around and trilling and if she's in the mood will led me or the BF scritch her. The BF has even picked her up for cuddles once or twice. The collar hopefully means she has a hoomin slave somewhere, but she's always hanging out in the area, and peeking into my apartment. Of course I have no room for a fourth and my troublemakers would ABSOLUTELY hate it. So for now she'll just be an outside visitor that stops by for scrtiches and kibble snacks. I'll try to get a pic if I can. cheers and happy easter, Kristi |

There are thousands and thousands of abandoned pets all over America, as people lose their jobs/apartments/homes. Perhaps you could put a note on her collar? At least then you would know if she has humans, or is depending on you for all of her food. I sure hope she's not abandoned... ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ^..^ "Life without cats would be only marginally worth living." -TC, and the unmercifully, relentlessly, sweet calico kitty, Kenzie. There's a reason the tag on Persia's collar has my phone number on it as well as the word "microchipped", in case she escapes. (Dammit, I need to get her a new tag. My phone number has changed.) I did update her information with the microchip company. Jill |
