Cruising Cats: March 12
Sunday, March 12, 2006
We stayed at the dock in Port Aransas because of blustery wind and took advantage of the day to sort through and get rid of some of the stuff we had brought onboard. Why would a retired couple and two cats living on a boat need five or six dustpans? The cats spent the day exploring the boat and napping. Cinder has claimed the tube and Rosie has claimed the den that we brought from the cat trees. Monday, March 13, 2006 The morning winds were calm enough to allow us to complete the 3-hour cruise to Rockport, Texas, about 21 miles. A trio of dolphins accompanied us part of the way, swimming right next to the boat. Their mouths look like smiles, and I believe I could see a glint of mischief in the eyes. I took out my camera, and they must have been camera shy, because they dove below the surface and reappeared way behind us. Rosie and Cinder did well today. I put Cinder on the window ledge at the front, and she seemed to enjoy watching the boats go past. They are catching on that when they hear a loud engine zip by, to brace for a little rocking. The water was fairly smooth most of the way, but a little rough when the wind picked up toward the end. But, nobody got seasick this time. Posted by Annie on behalf of Rosie and Cinder |
