Did you know that bread is delivered fresh to the stores five days a week?
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Each day has a different
color twist tie. They a

Monday - Blue

Tuesday - Green

Thursday - Red

Friday - White

Saturday - Yellow

So if today was Thursday, you would want red twist tie - not white
which is Fridays (almost a week old)! The colors go alphabetically by color
Blue - Green - Red - White - Yellow, Monday through Saturday. Very easy to
remember. I thought this was interesting. I looked in the grocery store and
the bread wrappers DO have different twist ties, and even the one with the
plastic clips have different colors.

You learn something new everyday!!!

Pass this information onto friends so they can be informed also

Some helpful hints and who would think.....

*Budweiser beer conditions the hair

That's been around forever! (When I was a teen, girls used
to wash their hair in beer - any brand would do.)

* Pam cooking spray will dry finger nail polish

And make your fingers greasy!

* Cool whip will condition your hair in 15 min

And draw flies, I suspect. (Or ants - it contains sugar.)

* Mayonnaise will KILL LICE , it will also condition your hair

Dunno about the lice, but it was used as a hair conditioner
long before such things existed commercially! (But it's
probably more expensive than the fancy conditioners, nowadays.)

* Elmer's Glue-paint on your face, allow it to dry, peel off and see
the dead skin and blackheads if any

Do they still make it?

* Shiny Hair-use brewed Lipton Tea

Tea (any brand) has been used to bring out highlights
(especially red ones) in women's hair for generations!

* Sunburn - empty a large jar of Nestea into your bath water

Or sponge the burned areas with ordinary tea made from
teabags (probably better, since you get the pure tannic acid
without all the corn-syrup solids and other gunk in the
"instant" beverage).

* Minor burn-Colgate or Crest toothpaste

I imagine any brand would do, but aloe-vera gel is cheaper
(or just use a leaf from the plant, which many people keep
on the kitchen windowsill for emergency first-aid).

* Burn your tongue? Put sugar on it!

Even if you burnt it with hot, sweet coffee? ;-)

* Arthritis? WD-40 Spray and rub in, kill insect stings too

I think I prefer something less greasy and machine-shop
smelling! (Although if you're desperate enough......)

* Bee stings - meat tenderizer

Do they still make it? If so, how many people keep it handy
enough to do any good? (IIRC, it has to be applied
IMMEDIATELY.)

* Chigger bite - Preparation H

* Puffy eyes - Preparation H

Not everyone keeps that on hand (or has any need for it in
its intended function).

* Paper cut - crazy glue or chap stick (glue is used instead of
sutures at most hospitals)

Perhaps, but NOT "crazy glue"!

* Stinky feet - Jell-O!!

Frequent application of soap and water works, too. (I'm not
sure I wouldn't prefer to have my feet smell like feet,
rather than Jello!)

* Athletes feet - cornstarch

However, a medicated talcum powder actually CURES the fungus
infection.

* Fungus on toenails or fingernails - Vicks vapor rub

Hmmm..... if it's a choice between having my feet smell of
Vapo-Rub or Jello, I'm not sure I wouldn't prefer the latter!

* Kool aid to clean dishwasher pipes. Just put in the detergent
section and run a cycle, it will also clean a toilet.

* Kool Aid can be used as a dye in paint also

......And just THINK what it does to your kids' digestive
systems!!!!!

* Kool aid in Dannon plain yogurt as a finger paint, your kids will
love it and it won't hurt them if they eat it!

.....But YOU will love it less, when it comes to the clean-up!

* Peanut butter - will get scratches out of CD's! Wipe off with a
coffee filter paper

......Which will provide new scratches to replace the ones
the peanut butter removed!

* Peanut butter will remove ink from the face of dolls

......And infest them instead with those tiny red "grease ants"?

* When the doll clothes are hard to put on, sprinkle with corn starch
and watch them slide on

Sole remaining problem, removing the cornstarch residue from
every surface your child or the doll have rested upon!

* Heavy dandruff - pour on the vinegar!

Occasional shampooing helps, too!

* Body paint - Crisco mixed with food coloring. Heat the Crisco in the
microwave, pour into an empty film container and mix with the food color of
your choice!

And then try to remove the resultant mess from your bathtub,
after you remove it from your person!

* Tie Dye T-shirt - mix a solution of Kool Aid in a container, tie a
rubber band around a section of the t-shirt and soak

And watch your next load of laundry turn pink, green (or
whatever) when you forget what you used for dye and toss the
shirt in with the rest of the clothes!

* Preserving a newspaper clipping - large bottle of club soda and 1/2
cup of milk of magnesia, soak for 20 min. and let dry, will last for many
years!

Illegibly, no doubt! (Have you actually TRIED this? It
doesn't sound very feasible.)

* A Slinky will hold toast and CD's!

But not very securely, given the nature of the beast!

* To keep goggles and glasses from fogging, coat with Colgate
toothpaste

Prevents fogging, also prevents seeing!

* Wine stains, pour on the Morton salt and watch it absorb into the
salt.

Only if it's freshly spilled - in which case plenty of cold
water works, too! (And any table salt will do - specific
brand doesn't matter.)
* When you go to buy bread in the grocery store, have you ever
wondered which is the freshest, so you "squeeze" for freshness or softness.

And with all the "conditioners" and additives, it remains
soft practically forever! I stopped buying Wonder Bread
after the time I made croutons from it, only to have them
reconstitute into their original texture, when floated on a
bowl of soup!

That may be true for the big commercial bakeries - when you
buy the store's fresh baguettes, etc. they don't have any
"ties" at all - the end of the loaf is usually sticking out
of the paper bag they sell it in!

Yes they do. I just bought some the other day.

* Paper cut - crazy glue or chap stick (glue is used instead of

I think it's Super Glue that works best. That's what I do. It's nearly
the same thing as the skin glue you buy in a drugstore, but a heack of
a lot cheaper. This was confirmed by one of my doctors, by the way.
My fingers like to split over the wintertime, so I go through a lot of
superglue. 2/$1 at your local dollar store. The gel works best.

* Tie Dye T-shirt - mix a solution of Kool Aid in a container, tie a
rubber band around a section of the t-shirt and soak

This doesn't work. I tried to dye 100% cotton fringe with Kool Aid once,
and it took an astronomical amount of Kool Aid to get a light tinge
on the fabric. Nope, I'd just spring for the good dyes.
