Default Ambers getting fussy

At first I thought she was sick. She wouldn't eat her Wellness chicken.
I offered some dry Innova which she did eat. I don't know if there was
something wrong with the Wellness but Tiger is eating it (but he will
eat anything). I will have to get some Friskies or Whiskas canned food
to try and tempt Amber.

I'm glad she's eating *something*, even if she won't eat her wet food.
It's the older cats I worry about most when they're off their food,
because
of their liver, they can end up so very sick.
Bosley is "off" also; I have so far managed to tempt him with only
"Fancy
Feast Appetizer" stuff. But he had gone without no food at all for 24
hours.
Right now it's just important that he *eat* anything at all. He's a
big cat,
and they're even more susceptible to hepatic lipidosis.
Purrs that Amber's just being picky, and goes right back to eating her
food.

How is her "elimination"?

Forgot to mention this -- I think trying a different food might be a
good idea--
she may be just tired of her food. Does she eat different "flavors" of
Wellness, or just the same one all the time?
And to complicate things further :-)
Cats are a lot like us in terms of our favorite foods. We'd know
instantly
if the formula had changed on something we eat every day. Cats are
more super-sensitive than we are. There could be some change with
that particular shipment of cat food. (I can tell when Coke has been
stored in the heat too long)
I don't think she's just messing with you. She's a grand old lady, and
she's earned the right to be particular. :-)
It really doesn't sound like she's ill, either; if she's eating plenty
of her
dry food.

Default Ambers getting fussy-UPDATE

This morning Amber was back to normal. She ate her Wellness plus a
couple of pieces of bacon from my breakfast. I don't like her to eat
too much dry food because she never drinks water and could get
constipated.

Default Ambers getting fussy-UPDATE II

Amber has been with me over 15 years and I have never seen her drink
water - UNTIL TODAY. This morning, she got off of her window seat and
headed right to the water dish and took a drink. I couldn't believe it.

That is not needed. This was only a small drink. She was probably a
little dehydrated from eating only dry food the day before. The 20 mile
ride to the vet would stress her out a lot.

It's probably just because she's not used to the dry food she ate
yesterday. I'm glad she's back eating her Wellness.
Still no rhyme or reason why Bosley went off his food. There's been
some major routine upset in this house and I believe now His Royal
Orange-ness just doesn't handle stress well.
