Default Help... cat constantly licking himself

I have a cat who constantly licks himself... is there a reason for
this? He licks his neck and arms and I am quite worried.

That can be a sign of stress, or sometimes of a rash. I'd recommend
getting him in to see a vet soon. If it's caused by irritation, the vet
should be able to help. If it's stress-induced, the vet might be able to
offer suggestions.

Have you recently changed anything in the cat's environment? Any new
animals, new family members, new furniture, etc?

If mine was licking his arms I would be worried too since they do not have arms!!

Default Help... cat constantly licking himself

When Jeannie was waiting in the shelter to be adopted, she was so unhappy
that she licked whole bunches of furr off her cute tumme! She has been with
us for 2 years now (actually more than that since she was with Gwen in
Alabama before she moved back here) and she has stopped licking herself, the
fur has grown back and she is just one happy little kittie! Sooo, I would
say your little kitty just needs love, reassurance and kind words! Of
course, it might pay to have the vet check for skin problems, but I'll bet
it clears up all by itself.'
