Who's the oldest
Another thread got me wondering, who is the oldest living rpca cat? Is it
KFC at, what Tweed, 22 or so? And what is the oldest age anyone has had a cat live to? -- Hugs, CatNipped See all my masters at: http://www.PossiblePlaces.com/CatNipped/ |

My "oldest" cat lived to be almost 20, next was Amber who lived to age 16. My current two are still youngsters (by comparison) -- Holly, age 12; and Duffy, approximately age 9. Both are still alert and active, so I really don't think of them as seniors. MaryL |

I remember a story in Cat Fancy Magazine many years ago about a couple of cats reaching 35 years old. There were pictures of them also. I wish I could remember the date of the magazine article. Princess , my Siamese) was approximately 16 . She was an adult stray when she adopted me. The Vet guessed her to be about two years old and I had her for 14 years. I still miss her. MLB |

Who's the oldest
Had to put our last kitty down at age 20 years and 3 months. He had been hyperthyroid for the last couple years of his life. |

She would have been 22 now, we adopted her as a kitten around the end of June/beginning of July in 1985 Kathryn, still missing her lots. |

Who's the oldest
"CatNipped" wrote in message ... Another thread got me wondering, who is the oldest living rpca cat? Is it KFC at, what Tweed, 22 or so? I would never have known even an approximate age for KFC until I met an ex-neighbour in the local supermarket a few years ago and asked him if he had any idea who the tiny black and white cat might be that was living in my garden, and he said she had been theirs, and they had got her as a kitten when their daughter was a baby. When I posted to rpca that she was missing- several years ago now - and I subsequently found her injured, the vets estimated her age at 18+ and so were reluctant to anaesthetise her for x-rays, preferring to wait and see if she improved over the course of a few days once her body temperature was raised from subnormal and any bruising she might have become less painful. Which she did. You've perked up my interest now to discover her year of birth. I know someone who knows their daughter, who is still in the area, so if I explain why I need to know I'm sure they will help me with this. Watch this space! Kitty is still remarkably well. Despite her early kidney failure she eats like a horse. I have to groom her now myself although she does have a bit of a go at it herself but all she does is leave snail tracks in her fur which never looks bright. She sleeps a lot but she still has the sort of personality to say "today I am on UR DUVET.." if I don't shut my bedroom door quick enough, otherwise she has to make do with the bed in the spare room. She ventures outside now only if the weather is dry, which it hasn't been since.. when, you fellow Brits? April? AND she ate a whole young 6" rat the other night that Boyfie brought in. I expected her to burp because she's so small, but she didn't ;-) She couldn't eat it all in one go. If I went into the kitchen where I knew the remains were she would stroll in and stand in front of it "you won't eat my rattie, will you?" Only a few hours later and not one atom of it was left. Whatta girl! Tweed And what is the oldest age anyone has had a cat live to? -- Hugs, CatNipped See all my masters at: http://www.PossiblePlaces.com/CatNipped/ |
