Unfortunately, no, though I'm tempted to try to track them down and
present them with a bill. If my vet was charging full cost, I would have
paid $420 just to send them to the Bridge. Domesticated rats are legally
considered livestock at best, vermin at worst, and have almost no
protection against abuse and neglect. Public opinion only protects the
creatures commonly viewed as cute.

Hey! I think rats are cute! I have a friend over here who does rat
rescue and they're so adorable that if I didn't have cats....

Depends on the cats whether they can work together or not. In a lot of
cases, cats and rats are perfectly compatible in the same home as long
as the rats can have a temporarily cat free zone for out of cage
playtime. It's more about how the household works than about what other
pets are around, with the exception of extreme aggression.

I make it work with 6 kitties.
