Default cat not using litter box

Today I went grocery shopping - ick - and while checking out the clerk
and the bagger are talking about her cat. She took it to the vet and
spent $100 to find out it is crazy....
Ok I am nosy so I asked what do you mean crazy? It's peeing everywhere
she replied - so I asked is the cat declawed - Yes how did you know?
The cat was a gift that she got and it was declawed before she got it.
It was peeing other than the litter box when it fist arrive at the
clerks home and then she moved to boot. Poor thing must be stressed
out of its mind - new owner declaws & spays then give it to someone
else and then that person moves to a new home... I suggested feliway
and trying several litters for the cat to choose...she said that is
what the vet said and she thought he was crazy...she said she would
give it a try after all...

Uh.. I'm not for declaw, but the numbers of cats peeing outside of the box when
going to a new home or some other stressful (non-declaw situation are also
high.
