Hugs, CatNipped Speaking of Tom Hanks, does anyone here remember the name of the TV show that he started his career with - the one where he and another guy dressed up like women so they could get cheap rent? Hugs, CatNipped Bosom Buddies! Tom Hanks is the Jimmy Stewart of our time, folks. Totally adaptable to any role whatsoever. Jill |

Jill At the risk of sounding sacrilegious, G I believe Tom Hanks is a better actor than Jimmy Stewart. Don't get me wrong - I love(d) Jimmy! But he was always Jimmy Stewart, no matter what role he was playing. Tom Hanks is more of a chameleon. He becomes the person he is playing. I saw him first in "Big", and liked him, but I thought that was maybe just his natural personality. Then I saw him in "Philadelphia". Then "Forrest Gump". And so on. His "Castaway" was yet another role. He amazes me! The only other actor nowadays (and he doesn't do much acting any more) who comes close (IMNSHO) is Dustin Hoffman. Joy |
