Default Hair licking

Does anyone else find hair licking to be strangely pleasant?

It's mostly Dot who's a licker here, but she likes to lick hands and
faces - bare skin, with her raspy tongue. Buster licks hoomins much
less often than she does, but if he thinks you're asleep, and you look
like you need a grooming, he'll sometimes start washing your hair.

Getting your hair licked doesn't hurt like raspy bare skin exfoliation
can, and the swooshy slurpy sounds are oddly relaxing. Maybe I'm just
weird. But Buster is really an odd one. I think he was genetically
engineered by Monty Python as a joke.

Kiki is an habitual hair-washer. In fact, we have a morning ritual
worked out. When I'm in the shower, she paces the bath-mat, calling to
me every minute or so to make sure that the nasty, dreaded water
hasn't dissolved me.

After I've towelled off, Kiki's real work begins. I smell wrong after
a shower, you see, so she gives both ankles a thorough rubbing, and
then hops onto the bedroom shelf and whisker-wipes my arms and hands,
bobbing up onto her hind feet to reach my cheeks and neck. During this
she is scolding me and nipping tetchily at me.

But when I sit down to do my socks is when the most important work
happens. Kiki steps off the shelf onto my shoulders and gets medieval
on my hair. You can almost hear her tutting. "Tch... you made it all
wet... *slurp* *slurp*... and it smells funny... *slurp*... you don't
need to do that... *slurp* *nomnomnom* *slurp*... just lick your
wrists and rub your head... *slurp*... works for me..." and so on
until I have to lift her off and go re-brush my hair.

Naughty doesn't give a damn about any of this business, but she does
like to sit in the bath and drink the drips from the shower.

I think I would if my hair was short (I mean really, really short). As it
is, they may try it but quickly stop when they start gagging on the long
hair (it's really, really long). But I have thoroughly enjoyed having my
eyebrows licked.

If I were you, I'd try tying back my hair in a ponytail and see if
they'll go after the hair line area. Eyebrow washings are good
too, as long as I don't wake up with just one eyebrow.

If you're weird, then so am I. Roxy used to wash my hair sometimes. I
used to have it shaved close to my head on the sides (I've since grown
it out a bit longer). I guess at that length, my hair seemed a bit like
cat fur. It is definitely relaxing, especially since she would purr while
doing it. It used to put me right to sleep.

Caliban sometimes washes my face, especially my forehead. Sometimes he
strays into my hairline. But he never deliberately washes my hair. How
helpful of Buster.

Hehe, one of the club. Like Caliban and Dante.

I could use a little kitty exfoliation. The climate is pretty dry
around here and my hands are sometimes like sandpaper.

Squeekers has taken to sleeping above my pillow on another pillow (his now)
And once in a while he will wake me in the middle of the night cleaning my
hair. I tell him no and it usually stops but if it doesn't then he gets
booted out of bed.

He never did this until the last year or so and he's now almost 12.
