Hi in return. (Only one "i", though. Saving the rest for when I
hear more...

(sighing) School is definitely out.

Dinner tonight will be three baby artichokes steamed along with a
half a pound of Alaskan crab claws. Both are lovely dipped in
lemon/butter. A nice chilled white wine to go with.

Jill

I think you're getting oversensitive, Jill, there is nothing in this
thread
that is inapropriate or suggests trolling.

It would have been nice to introduce themselves and cats at the same
time though, don't you agree?

Tweed

Agreed, but there was nothing nasty in the post.

Nasty isn't required. "Hiiiiiiiii" isn't a serious post; it's just crap.

As the OP hasn't posted again you're almost certainly right.

I don't think so. Look at Google Groups and you find three posts
from "shony" at about the same time, to a selection of groups that
might well be what a newbie who didn't know a thing about Usenet
would try. A spammer would have hit far more.

My bet is that it was an innocent mistake from somebody used to
the kind of web forum where a nondescript message introducing
yourself is the way you join, and who didn't realize that Usenet
is fundamentally different.

Shony, if you're still reading, welcome and tell us about your cats.

And besides she only posted a menu. Wasn't accusing or anything.

We had the absolute best fish for dinner tonight. Fresh stripped bass, as
in caught this morning, dipped in batter and deep fried. With coleslaw and
fresh french fried potatoes.
