Default World's biggest mouse?

Eli, The Great Black Hunter brought in a gift last night, the biggest mouse
I have ever seen. Or is it a small rat? I just don't know! What do you
think?

The whole pride could have feasted on this one, but they left it intact....
Why???

I dunno what kind 'o rat you got there, but AFAIK it's a gift better dead
than alive......hope you were appropriately grateful to your Hunter.

Isn't it obvious? They want it carefully measured, so that Eli can be
put in the record books if it's a world record. And, of course, it
should be mounted and hung at cat eye level by the door to impress all
the neighborhood felines.

Holy mother of . . . if that's a mouse, it escaped from one of those
genetic engineering labs.

Good Lord. It looks like a mouse that got too close to a nuclear reactor.

Rat, I think. I can't really see the ears well, but mice have round
ears (think "Mickey"), whereas rats are more pointed. Where do you
live? As near as I can tell, the color is like our little Southern
California fruit rats - charcoal grey with white underparts. (Also,
I've been told that a well fed cat may enjoy a snack of mouse, but will
seldom eat a rat.)
