Help! Kitten having accidents
Three months ago, I took in a stray male kitten. Q stays indoors all
the time and has never had any trouble using the litterbox. He is now six months old. Q has urinated twice on the floor this week. He is squatting, and I have read that male cats do not squat to spray. I am getting him neutered after the holidays. Is this a behavior problem that could be corrected by neutering? I change his box regularly. He has a covered litterbox that's he always used. I put a plastic liner down, put a little baking soda, a few inches of cheap litter, and an inch of clumping litter on top. Recently, I started using the Arm and Hammer baking soda to freshen the box instead of the Arm and Hammer Litter deodorizer because they look and smell the same, and the baking soda is so much cheaper. What can I do to keep him from having accidents? |

Male cats do squat to urinate. This is different from spraying. He should
definitely be neutered. He should be checked for a urinary ract infection by the vet. I would remove the cover on the box to see if this makes a difference. Also, he should have two boxes as some cats do not like to urinate and defecate in the same box. Gail "oboist311" wrote in message om... Three months ago, I took in a stray male kitten. Thank you for your advice. I took Q to the the vet this morning, and
the vet has put him on amoxicillin. Hopefully, this will clear things up, but I will try a few different things with the litterbox too. |
