Emergency Purrs, Please
ups.com...
This is exactly what I have been afraid of all winter. Wildfires have broken out all around us. DH went to check on his parents and just called and told me my friend's house is burning. She was walking down the road and they won't let her near. I know she has animals in there. I have all the cats in their carriers. They are not happy but it won't kill them to stay there a couple of hours. I can't afford to have to chase them. I figure they will probably evacuate all of us if it gets any closer. I can see the helicopters trying to put the fire out. The sun is completely occluded with smoke it looks so eerie. Like the whole world is one fire. I will be fine, I have a car and the cats are trapped already. I don't know what we will do about the cows. I suppose if it gets that bad I should cut the fence. Purrs are appreciated! Sherry Lots of purrs and prayers for you all. It must be very frightening for you. I hope the cows and all the other animals in the area will be ok. Alison |

Emergency Purrs, Please
We just got very lucky this afternoon. A cold front came through, and the wind changed direction out of the north abruptly about the time the fire was about five miles from us. So everything is fine here. Thank you all so much. Unfortunately, when the wind changed it blew toward my inlaws house. They almost lost their house, did lose their barn. My DH & son went out there to help; DS had no business going because he has mild asthma. DH called earlier and they have him in the back of the ambulance giving him oxygen, tried to get him to go to the hospital but he won't. But DH said he was much better, thank God. It is pitch dark now so it will be hard to tell how much damage there really is till tomorrow. Thanks again, so very much. Sherry |

Whew... I'm so glad the wind changed when it did for your sake. And
that your in-law's house was at least spared. I am sorry to hear about your friend's house burning, though. I hope her animals are okay! Melissa |
