Onyx's Grandmeowmie called me the other day to talk about a recent visit
to TED by Onyx. Now, he's not acutely ill or dying, per se, but his
body IS starting to "wind down", so to speak. His liver panel came back
SKY HIGH (I think his Grandmeowmie told me his numbers were around
thirteen, when normally, the numbers are between .4 and 2[???]), which
is indicative of a thyroid problem, which makes a LOT of sense, given
how much weight he's lost over the last two years. He's ALWAYS hungry
now, but he never has sustained his weight as of late. The bloodwork
also indicated some potential problems with his kidneys, too. He has
also developed a heart murmur since the last time he was at TED.

I just thought you might like to know what's going on. He's still
active, but you have to remember that he DID just turn 15 years old last
month. TED said to Onyx's Grandmeowmie that that's around 90 human
years old, so you can, I hope, see why he's starting to slow down even
more than before.

Big purrrs fur Onyx. I've known of him for so long. I know he's getting
the care and love.

Yes, he is indeed. I can purrsonally vouch for that.

Smurgles from my house.

Sorry to hear this, but at least thyroid issues are treatable.

Purrs for Onyx (and you!) especially while you try to get those
thyroid levels stabilized.
