The Invitation

As i read the anecdotes, Djoser is on the windowsill beside me,
looking outside. Suddenly, he moves, and I look up. His body is in
stalking mode; but forward movement is arrested as his head is jammed
tight against the screen over the open window. Then he speaks..."Yik,
yik, yik, yik", to a Western Kingbird perched on the trellis just
outside the window. The bird just sits there turning his head back and
forth, looking for insects; seemingly unaware of the black panther
inviting him for dinner!
