cat tracking via radio transmission collar, continued
Hello, just thought I would update my progress. I ended up getting
http://thecatlocator.com It works. I am lucky to have a cat that follows me, but I've heard that others have cats that do the same. This shouldn't be of much surprise since kittens follow their moms, and cats think of you as a mom, if you give them enough attention. Overnight backpacking trip a success, but stream crossings required assistance. I use a soft carrier that I attach to my backpack. The radio receiver is kind of bulky, and the antenna could be damaged if the pack fell over on it onto stone. I hope they come out with more portable models in the future. Spacey -----Original Message----- Hello, I have been looking for available products, and have found the following possible sources: http://thecatlocator.com/locator/store1.html http://www.numaxes.com/en/products/product.asp?p=14 http://www.positioning.televilt.se/ http://www.innotek.net/store/index.p...180c3774fee707... http://www.canicom.co.uk/petcom.htm Canicom emailed a reply and said they are no longer carrying this product. Has anyone else looked and found anything else? TIA, Spacey ps. I would like to take my cat backpacking, and I will put the radio transmitter on a harness (the ones for small dogs that goes around the neck and the chest), rather than a breakaway collar. I can put him in my backpack if he doesn't follow. With a radio receiver I can locate him if he gets out of sight. |

Another update... I haven't searched, but a friend told me that they
have similar tracking devices for model rockets. A quick google turned up this page: http://www.tfs.net/~petek/rockets/RDF/70trans.htm Spacey Spade wrote: Hello, just thought I would update my progress.
