Default Won't cover pooh

I have 2 cats and my male has never had great litter box habits.

But lately he is building piles and poohing on top of them rather than
covering them.

He is the dominate cat in the house. Any suggestions?

We have a cat that does the same thing...Raisen used to cover her poo, but
has stopped doing so in the last couple of years (oh the stench!!). I read
that cats will all of a sudden do this when they feel nervous or insecure
and need to mark their territory so to speak. We don't give Raisen a chance
to poo on top of her poo because we have to clean the box right away or the
stench fills the house in seconds flat. Think back to when your cat started
this behavior- was there a change in the house? (like new furniture,
Christmas tree, anything out of the ordinary that would make him a little
nervous?).

Hope this new behavior doesn't last long.

All I can suggest is to clean the box before he has a chance to pile
anything up!

Bill usually uses the great outdoors, but indoors he has stopped covering
his poop. I think he's just lazy and he knows I'm going to dump it right
away anyway so why bother!

My male cat stopped covering his poo when I brought a second, female cat
into the house. Luckily, *She* will often cover *his* poo after he's gone!
