Frank is scheduled for his dental surgery on the 27th. I have to take

pick him up after 4 in the afternoon. I know I'll be a nervous wreck all
day. Actually, I'm a nervous wreck already. Frank will be 17 next month,
and it's always a risk to put such an old cat under anaesthesia. He's
also had some high BUN levels, which makes it even more of a risk. But
he has to have that tooth out or it will get infected again. I'll be on
needles and pins until I have him back home, safe and sound and in good
health next week.

Sending major dental purrs for Frank and for your peace of mind. I
always worry with any surgery, no matter what, so I sure understand
your worry! Especially with his age and BUN level. But Frank's a
tough guy, so I'm sure he'll make it through just fine :-)

Lots of purrs for Frank's surgery to be uneventful and routine and for you
not to worry too much(says the person who is convinced she won't wake up
every time she has an anaesthetic herself!)

At my vet's surgery they offer different types of anaesthetic including one
that has been developed for old animals, although the vets says all
veterinary anaesthetics are much safer than they used to be. We have a
choice of having this one for our oldies.

Same as wot helen said, Marina. Big advance purrs from us in Cornwall.
Be positive: think how much better he'll feel without toothache:
although young, Pericles has problem teeth and has already had 2
general anaesthetics and 4 extractions in his life, and has been a
much, much happier boy afterwards.

Purrs again,
Gordon, Bandit, Pericles & Snowball

Many, many good vibes heading the way of a very, very special cat in
Finland.

You aren't the only one who'll be worrying that day. Frank is very
dear to a
wee family over here on the other side of the North Sea.

Purrs for Frank's successful surgery and soothing purrs for your
frazzled nerves! Here we've had a special "senior citizens'"
anesthesia used whenever required and it's worked great! Good luck
to you both.
