Hi

Is your pain problem caused by complex regional pain syndrome?
There's a new implant called RestoreSensor being used for it according
to an article I read yesterday that is an improvemernt on previous
ones as it can detect what position the patient is in adn adjust
itself. (Same technology that enables i-phone screens to move when the
phone is turned round apparently). I saw the article and thought of
you

Is that the same thing as the electrical stimulus (I think it's SENS or
something like that)? I've heard that the implanted ones end up causing
more problems - but I've only every tried the external one and it actually
aggravated the condition. Could you send me a link or tell me where you
read that - I'm *MOST DEFINITELY* interested in reading up on that - I feel
like I'm at a dead end at this point, but not yeat give up and
not-so-quietly die!

Sweetie, thank you *SO* much for thinking of me - you'll never know how much
that touched me!

No problem- this patient had back pain but at the end it mentions
other conditions it could be useful for-

More to the point, what does the article you read say about if the
iPod
tech pain remedy device figuratively "drops its call" when patient is
making
a crucial body move, as in going down steep stairs? Or dealing with
high-

The technology the article mentioned isn't specific to i-phone it's
the technology that means when you turn the phone on its side the
screen moves- it's also used in laptops.

I agree with you about i-phones, when they first came out my friend
Chaz who is the original gadget boy got one and he was boasting "This
phone can tell me where I am!" to which my reply was "You're in the
back bar of the "Black Lion" I can tell you that"- so he demonstrated
the GPS and according to that he was about a mile away!

Well, good try, and I appreciate your thoughtfulness, but this is the same
as an implanted TENS unit - it works for some people, but actually ends up
hurting the RSD patient (it's treated, as all surgery is, as a new site in
which the RSD can invade). Although many doctors use it for RSD, I think
that may be the frustration of not knowing any other treatment that will
help. On the chronic pain group, many, many people have stated that it
ended up hurting them more than before the surgery.
