But more and more lately, she's walking up when I'm sitting down with bare legs (usually when I'm on the toilet!) and gently biting me on the knee or the shin. When I'm on the sofa reading, she's biting my elbow or the side of my hand. It doesn't hurt, and is usually followed by a head-butt or rub and lots of loud purrs. I pat her and her eyes are huge, almost like she's on a catnip high. She didn't used to do this quite so often. Now it seems a daily occurrance. Maybe she's just glad to have me at home rather than running off to work? Jill (who has Persia snoozing next to her in 'slut' position) They bite me, they find themselves with a mouthful of whatever it was they were biting, and unable to get away as I firmly say NO BITING. A friend got her cat to stop biting by crying out in huge amounts of pain every time. The cat didn't want to HURT Moomy, so she stopped biting. My cats currently to the licklicklicklickbite thing.... and find themselves on the floor pretty fast. TBird --- has rules I guess you missed my point - she really isn't biting me and it certainly doesn't hurt or break the skin. I was just wondering why she's doing it more often lately. Maybe she knows I've lost my job and I need the love purrs and head butts that go along with. Or maybe she's feeling like she needs to nip at her her human mom to make up for barfing on the carpet. I dunno. Jill |

I especially get this same behavior from Midnight "the queen;" it makes me
think it's a love/ownership/marking thing. Christine "jmcquown" wrote in message . .. TBird wrote: "jmcquown" wrote in message . .. Okay, Persia has snuck up on me and done this before. When Vino does this, it's an invitation to play. He wants us to chase him
or wrestle with him. -- Britta Sandpaper kisses, a cuddle and a purr. I have an alarm clock that's covered in fur! Wilson was murder when he was younger he was always drawing bloodI kept
telling myself he thought he was just playing,he still bites, more than he should, but only draws blood now when, as you say, he makes a running dive,he's the first cat I've had like that Jean. ps I think I just sent a letter off about the mouse without signing my name if anyone reads this, sorry.J.P. Hopitus2 wrote in message ... I want to reassure you. BT Rowdy does the same thing, fairly firmly (no skin breaking) when he is in "loving" mode, anything handy not covered by clothing on his hoomin he loves. BUT he also has a habit I really hate: while I'm sleeping, especially, or rarely while stretched out on couch watching tv, he will make a "charge", mouth wide stretched, and *bite* hard always on my lower leg, on its side, sometimes drawing blood (blood-drawing only since I began taking blood-thinning meds last year) pinpoints where his two upper fangs hit. All I've ever been able to think of is that he's playing, as this is exactly how he "jumps" the girls, who awake, mad as h***, and really let him have it. I always yell loudly (it hurts) and he goes and hides; knowing he's p****ed off his hoomin he loves. Rowdy has become very loving during past 2 years especially, so I just believe he sometimes thinks I'm part of his wannabe play partners, none of us except Maluce ever want to play w/him, as she will often run through the house with Rowdy in hot pursuit, ending w/snarling skirmish under a bed.
