What is it? It lounges around like a cat, but looks like a
cat/labrador mix.

It looks like a black panther (black leopard) to me. See
http://www.kats-korner.com/bigcats/black-panther.html. Hopefully the
pictures will come up for you; all I could see was the text.

The music for that is great.

I see that every day. The bitties have wrestled like that since they were 4
weeks old, and they're still at it.

Toooo cute! I have 4 that do this now. Bonnie is playing with the

whole house sounds like a herd of buffalo.

That is Misha, a melanistic amur leopard. It's a genetic variation that
results in dark fur. In fact, when the sun hits her, you can see spots!

Leopards can't purr normally, but she tries to. It sounds like a cross
between a purr and a growl. }

Gad she is cute.

And cuddly! (When she wants to be. Other times, she's a real wiggle worm;
"put me down, I gotta plaaaaay!")

Ooohhh. Must be a favorite local model. I'm impressed how John
Eldredge was spot on about what this cat is.

Thanks.

Speaking of feline noises, I visited the Nashville Zoo today, and was
surprised to hear one of the cougars meow. It sounded like an
oversized housecat. I didn't know that they could make that
particular sound.

Oh hell yes they do. Most of the cougars at the sanctuary I volunteer at
meow and chirp, and some of them do it with personality!

There's one particular cougar (a big one, over 200lbs) named Osceola who
will respond when you call out "Oscy!" to him. He "rowrs" back. It's
pretty cute and consistent, though sometimes he's too lazy to respond.

There's another one named Mystique, who is VERY vocal and "meows" all
the time when people are near. She also purrrs like a motor when you
give her attention.

I think cougars have the cutest vocalizations of all the wild cats.
Tigers are also high on the list with their "chuff", which sounds like a
mix between a grunt and a purr.

They meow? I didn't know that either. I know they purr. Geez, they
purr, they meow, they do upside-downy head, they roll on their back
and show their belly (now there's one belly I'd never *dare* to
touch!)... maybe they *are* oversized housecats.
