Trail of destruction
I got home from work tonight and the first thing I noticed when I entered
the lounge was a few smashed ornaments on the floor. I looked upwards and saw two shelves which had been on the wall for megayears with a few photos and ornaments was off the wall. I began to wonder if I'd been burgled as there was jewellery hidden in one of the ornaments. You should see the mess. Pot pourri everywhere, smashed photographs, shelves hanging off. I pieced things together in detective style when I went into the kitchen. There are feathers, quite a lot of them, from a blackbird in there. Boyfie has caught a blackbird and it has escaped and flown up onto the high shelves, he hates his prey to get away and he's gone after it obviously. The shelves weren't intended to take the weight of an 8 lb cat. It all fell down on to my television, which fortunately has survived the experience and I hope the blackbird did too. Maybe not, but there is no sign of a body. Kitty FC has probably eaten up every little bit. She isn't finicky. Everything always goes down, beak, legs, head and all the feathers. She never turns down a meal that Boyfie brings. She's getting very frail now and cannot hunt for herself. Although when she decides to go out in the summer when it's warm I wouldn't put it past her to catch something and surprise me. Tweed |

I'm glad it appears the animals (well, except the bird probably) were not hurt! Nor the TV. |

Tweed Do you know how a blackbird could get in when you are away and the house is locked? MLB |
