After Iben's diatribe, you must know that what I stated was correct.

In article ,
enlightened us with... A friend feeds her cats both canned tuna and canned mackerel. Are there any precautions she should take? - like mercury in tuna How often to feed canned fish? Would fresh be better? duh... Maybe someone cam direct me to a website with more info on feline nutrition. TIA Cats need a varied diet that contains taurine, which is a vital nutrient they can't make themselves. I wouldn't overfeed any one human-grade food, especially canned tuna. If the fish is a supplement to cat food, I wouldn't worry about a lack of nutrients (I'd worry about too much mercury), but if this is a raw food (BARF) diet, the cat will need more than just fish. Cats go blind if they have no taurine in their diet. Kind of like humans get diseases if they don't have certain nutrients, like iodine, in their diet. -- -- ~kaeli~ He often broke into song because he couldn't find the key. http://www.ipwebdesign.net/wildAtHeart http://www.ipwebdesign.net/kaelisSpace |
