Added to last night's concern
about Boyfie having a mouse in his mouth and still hunting it.
this morning he insisted he hadn't had his breakfast (he had) and stayed up all day moaning about it. Last night he thought he hadn't had his 10 pm sprinkles by 10.30. If course he had. It has to be done on the dot, but he'd forgotten that he had them. I'm a bit worried tbh. |

How old is boyfie? is he losing his memory? |

You have fallen victim to an old cat trick. It is called the Starving Cat Routine and we all have fallen for it. |

One of our cats, Edgar (5 yo) comes around asking for more food at 11 pm, after he had a very nice dinner at 7 pm and has had his fill of kibble as well. He usually refuses his treats at that time, which leads me to believe that he asking for attention more than food. But he makes his "I need food, I am starving to death" sounds. Might Boyfie be hungry for attention? Is it that he is losing his memory, or might he just need a tad more food? Jay |

Allegedly they can. http://vetmedicine.about.com/od/dise...e-dementia.htm I know my dog Sampson developed what his vet called "doggie dementia" later in life. Jill |

He certainly has had a tough few months though. I've just had a card from the vet saying his yearly jabs and health checks are due in a couple of weeks so I'll mention it then. |

This was slightly different. Plus "where is my mousie?" from the evening before when he already had it in his mouth.. I'll keep my eye on him. |

Is it that he is losing his memory, or might he just need a tad more food? Jay He gets lots of attention as I am home most of the time (still recovering from my spinal operation). He has all the lap time he wants, I wait on him hand, foot and finger (one of my grandmother's phrases) in fact he's a bit spoilt I suppose. He doesn't need more food. He'd like it, of course, because he has a good appetite but the vet says his weight is perfect for his size so he doesn't need any more (want yes, need no.) Two vets have said do not let him get overweight because if he gets diabetes it wlll be impossible to medicate him at home on my own because he is so timid and struggles if I try to hold him. |
