Default The Cooper Cats report

Dear Friends, we left New Orleans on Sunday afternoon and traveled to
Hammond LA. We rested there until Thursday morning with no electricity
or phones. Then Thursday morning we started the trip to Our
Secretary's sister's house in Miami Springs. We arrived safely on
Saturday. We have not met our Anti's dogs and cats yet but that is
coming up.
This all sounds good but our hearts are hurting. Baby Kitty and Black
Jack would not let themselves be caught, so they are in our little
house. We left plenty of food and water but we DON'T KNOW YET!
Mom and Anti Jean have contacted Best Friends to try to rescue them but
that was just today. Our neighborhood did not get flooded but it is so
hot.
We know that it is much more important to purr for all the hurting
people. But maybe, somehow, some way.......Raphael Cooper

This reminds me of something that happened to my daugher (15) and I
today. We had donated what we could to help the people, but someone at
my second job was collecting for Best Friends. We donated a very small
sum, and my boss pounced (not literaly) on us, saying, "animals" as if
it were ridiculous.

My daughter replied:"Animals give unconditional love, and depend on
their caregivers and the kindess of humans. They are helpless, and
deserve our support." Now, I know you kitties do not like to be
referred to as helpless, but I was proud of my daughter. We are happy
you are all alright, and are purring for Baby Kitty, Black Jack, and
all sentient beings suffering.
