two new cats

My wife and I picked up our two new cats on Thursday/Saturday. We had
decided on an older cat and a kitten, because we had good luck with that
combination before.

We got a 4-month-old kitten from a foster home who worked with the local
animal shelter on Thursday. She was very skittish for a while, staying
in the laundry room, hiding behind the washer.

We then picked up 2.5 year old cat from the shelter, who spent about 3
hours investigating the house when we got her home.

The two hissed at each other only a little, and are now starting to
tolerate each other. After only a couple of days. They both are
sleeping with us on the bed at night, taking up more room than they
really should be able to.
