We got it all in the liquid form, which caused messes here.

Same here, but hey, it's Seattle.

Then all those storms moved east where they turned into snow, and caused
even worse messes.

That is So true, and sad. I feel sorry for the homeless hoomins n animals in
this weather

My sister was visiting my folks in Milwaukee Christmas. No snow. They left
to drive home, only to run into a white knuckle drive (her words) from
Racine south. They had to snow blow the driveway before they could get the
car up the slight grade. More than 6 inches by the time they got home.
More came overnight.

Geez, how horrible. Your poor sister.

Was in the mid-60s here, but I went to drive my car and it was not working
properly (remote didn't work, could not control radio, no clock, no turn
signal indicators inside, etc.) Things started working as I drove longer,
so I'm thinking something was shorted from all the moisture.

Glad you got everything working

If that's all I have to deal with because of the weather, I'll count my
blessings.

I count my blessings all the time

Had a friend who was supposed to leave today for Mexico from Boston. They
canceled her flight on Saturday, and she's now rescheduled for Thursday.

Geez, that's too bad ...will she stay with you?

Stepson in Navy (Fujairah)...not home for the holidays, but called on
Christmas.

Oh, that's so nice that he called you. Bless his heart for being in the
Navy and protecting our Country
I pray for ALL in the Military. This stupid war has gone on too blinking
long. It's time our people came home and let those over there sort things
out for themselves.

We are ok. The sn*w here is deep and the wind last night was horrible.
It is better today. A more complete report was filed by Sunrise in
another thread. I think it was Cshenk's thread. We are sn*wed in but
we have tons of food and no one had to go to w*rk today. I am just
finishing our last can of Diet Coke (TM) but I will persevere.
Song on the radio appears to be titled "I'd Like to Check You for
Ticks" so I am having a good laugh. I never used that line and I
thought I'd used them all.

No thanks, for the fish and the man. No now, not ever. I can stand second
hand smoke but second hand booze fumes is another thing.

only every 4 years or so and rarely over 2-4 inches. Lost power for a

on the 3 inch thick 'futon-foam mattress' in the living room. Power came
on before pipes froze.

Well, we have pipe heaters here in the garage.

Meantime, the base did open at 11am because the interstates have been
cleared but I'd have 2 miles of uncleared solid ice (about 3-4 inches thick)
on the side roads before I can even tell if they cleared Rosemont yet, then
1.5 miles up that if not cleared. Doesnt matter. I didn't make it into the
car. Slipped and fell in my own driveway and twisted my lower back.

I don't *think* it's gonna be a bad episode. I loaded up on muscle
relaxants and tramadol and am sitting quietly at home with my rice bag
warmers.

I'm ok BTW. It eased up today although I have some pretty spectacular
coloration on my butt where I landed on ice clumps!

Intersting way to get a week off, NOT!

age, is falling. Like the commercial, "hello I have fallen and can't get

Been there -- done that! Four years ago on New Years Day. After a

couple of hours, I was able to roll into the other room and pull down a
phone to call 911. I had tripped over the door sill after taking in the
newspaper. Fortunately, the door was still open so the firemen got in
without having to break the door. Don't recommend this for fun.

We're all doing well here in Illinois. But our Uncle Pat back in Highland
(Catifurnia) is still worried. His area has received lots and lots of
rain, and the mountains he's at the base of got 12 inches of snow. Lots
of flooding and mud slides in his part of the state. In fact, just a
couple miles from his house 40 houses were destroyed by mudslides!

Today they aren't getting rain, but are getting high winds. With the
ground as saturated as it is, a lot of trees have been blowing down and a
lot of power lines are down. Uncle Pat is without power and has been for
a few hours. Paw is recommending that he pick up a propane heater (one
that's certified for indoor use) to keep him and his two dogs warm
tonight.

We're all purring for Pat, Jessie James, and Pearl Mae to make it through
the wet season ok.

Amelia
