Has anyone had any dealings with the new vet at Fifth & Kenny Animal
Hospital. Do you like him or not and why? Also, do you know why Drs.
Miley and Jenne retired so sudden and without any notice to their
patients?

Thanks.

Aren't these the same two vets that Ginger-lyn was talking about in
her post about Trill? In which case, it's in Illinois, I think. I don't
remember exactly where Ginger-lyn lives, I always think Chicago, which
I'm pretty sure is wrong, but maybe not too far off.

Ginger-lyn lives in Columbus, OH. I did Google the vet clinic name, and
that's where they are, but they apparently don't have their own web site.
Neither does my vet, and I love them, so there's nothing bad about not
having their own web site (just means that they probably charge less as
there's one less expense for them).

Columbus, right. I know she's told me this before.

I think Ginger-lyn liked those vets. But they retired, and that's when
she got the call from Dr. Curtis that alarmed her so much.

Right on all points. :-)

I don't know that they retired suddenly; they were older, and I knew
they were heading for retirement at some point. Why they didn't let
clients know, I have no idea. Is that even common?

At any rate, they were excellent vets. There was a bit of "old country
vet" to them, so they knew a lot of little things that new, young vets
don't. I really liked that they always talked to the animal, not just
the human, and always let the cats sniff whatever nasty instrument they
were going to us on them -- lol. They were a bit warped, too, which I,
being the same, appreciated. One time, my first DH and I had Tiki in
(RB). Dr. Miley was talking to Tiki in that high voice we tend to use
to talk to cats. He was petting her, and going, "Yep, we're gonna have
to amputate your ears, Tiki," until my DH and I were nearly rolling on
the floor. The point being that it was the tone of voice, not the words.

We always called Dr. Miley "Dr. Mr. Rogers", because that's the way he
came across.

By the time they retired, they weren't afraid to joke around with me, or
let me use their bathroom or their phone, or whatever. Many times, they
would not charge me for little things (like claw trimming) because they
knew I was a little tight that month.

They never tried to get me to "buy" extra. They always explained that
situation, what could or couldn't be done, what levels of things could
be done, and the cost. They always struck me as upfront and caring.

I'm picky about vets. I had checked out something like six veterinary
practices before I went to them, and I knew they were it for me. I'm
sad to see them retire.

You can search for the veterinarian Austin TX which is good to provide full care and healthcare facility to the animals.
