It's rather unusual around here. I think you've chosen a good one. I've missed his middle name, what is it going to be? His full name will be Cary James Chapman. James is my father's name, but Joel didn't know that when he picked it. Doesn't stop my Dad feeling doubly honoured though! And I"ve always liked "James". I tend to like classic names, my very favourite being Thomas, but Joel nixed that. Cary came about because we wanted a name that wasn't all that common but on the same token wasn't so unusual that people just went "huh?" at it. And Joel also wanted to name the kid after his late mother, Kerry. Mind you, there is no *way* I would have named a son of mine "Kerry" because its just too close to Kerry Packer, a man I certainly don't admire. So we rolled the sounds of "Kerry" around on our tongues for a while and got "Cary", which is an older name, and unusual for today, but not so weird that people will forever think we were nuts inflicting onto our kid. It is also a Celtic name, which is an added bonus, and I am a Cary Grant fan. So Cary it was (we flirted with the variant spelling of "Carey", and I like the look of it better, but Joel pointed out that it looks more like a last name, and that then it isn't "Cary, as in Cary Grant" as a way of explanation, so the plain way of spelling it is the way to go). And if he doesn't like it, he can always call himself James of Jim, a very safe name. Yowie |

You could be a *distant* relation of Vernon. Family name from his Mum's side of the family is Chapman. Whcih means I *might* just be a real aunt - several thousand times removed, of course ;-) Cheers, helen s --This is an invalid email address to avoid spam-- to get correct one remove fame & fortune **$om $ --Due to financial crisis the light at the end of the tunnel is switched off-- |

Yowie Rob says that under no circumstances should you name your child "Dave" and suggests Robert as a fine alternative. Pam S. who wants your next one to be a girl so that you can name HER Robert |
