Cats 'control mice' with chemicals in their urine

Cats 'control mice' with chemicals in their urine
"Larry Stark" wrote in message ... http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-33380669 "Cat v mouse: it is probably the most famous predator-prey pairing, enshrined in idioms and a well-known cartoon. I know that both my cats were/are able to catch mice without seeing them, purely by sound. Example 1. Kitty was helping me feed the chickens once. I got the feeder out and there was a mouse underneath - so it ran. Kitty was behind the door, poked her paw underneath and caught it. She couldn't see it. Example 2. Boyfie caught a mouse and let it go alive in the house. It went under my kitchen trolley and he watched it for ages from one side. It made a break from the other side and he rushed round and got it immediately without being able to see it. |
