Victor, I'm so very sorry to read your post.

Quick question for those with CRF experience, would it be good for him
to increase the sub-Q therapy to twice a day?

Before you give him the sub-Q twice a day, you should talk with your
vet. When he gets to much fluid, it will settle in his lungs and would
lead to complications.

I'm sure, you will make the rest of his life as comfortable as
possible.

Our best purrs are coming over to Basho and you from
Inge and the catgang.

We're devastated, but determined to make sure he's comfortable and
happy for as long as possible.

Lots of purrs for Basho.

Oh, Victor,
This is sad to read. However, how is Basho taking the sub-Q fluids? Does
it make a huge difference for him - can you tell? Has his quality of life
improved on it? If it's not too stressful for him, you could consider
trying the twice a day - did you ever contact the CRF groups on yahoo or
elsewhere? Maybe they could give you some thoughts or ideas.

In any case, mega purrs going out to you all and for Basho.

Oh, {{{{{{{Victor}}}}}} I just now saw this post. I am so sorry.

I'd ask the vet about the fluids.

Here is one little bit of hope for you: My Cosmo was diagnosed with CRF
in May of 2000. He made it all the way to Oct. of 2008. You never
know; sometimes there are miracles.

I and mine will be purring Basho has one of those miracles.

Blessings,

Ginger-lyn
