Default OT - I'm so scared

I've done lots more research on RSD, and I'm certain that's what this is...
the unexplained sweating, the "cold hand" thing, the little red spots on my
arm they call "skin bleeding" - all of it points to that. And this is
something that I've had now for almost 4 years and it's already gone to my
right leg and starting to feel it on my left arm, so I really don't even
have hope that I've caught it early enough to get effective treatment for
it. I'm starting to have trouble even typing now and will probably have to
quit my job soon - and there goes everything, my house, my cats.

I know there's not a thing anyone here can do - I guess I'm just venting,
but I'm so, so scared!

I'm sorry you're scared, but I can understand why. Are you seeing a doctor
and getting treatment?

Hugs and purrs that you can be helped.

I'm seeing a doctor who specializes in RSD on Monday (if I can get my
medical records faxed over in time - he refuses to see anyone without having
their records first, a standard requirement for pain docs). I just afraid
it's too late - I'm starting to have trouble moving my fingers (and my job
consists of typing).

CN, I hope you will get much better news than what you fear. If you do
learn that it is really RSD and if it is so bad that you would have to give
up your job, I think it would be worth looking into disability retirement.
That would provide income and medical benefits. The specialist you are
going to see on Mondaymight even have some information on that. Certainly,
he would be aware of what medical evidence you would need to provide.

I know it's easier to say than do, but TRY not to panic! (Fear can only
magnify symptoms, which you certainly don't need at the moment!) I hope
your self-diagnosis is mistaken, and that the new doctor can help you.
(the cats send purrs, of course).

What is RSD, and I'm sorry you think you have it? Purrs and vent away.

Sweety, I don't know what RSD is... but please try not to panic! If
you are not able to do your job any more because of a medical
disability, that's what they have disability benefits for. I know
dealing with the government is a @#$% but you have as much right to
use the safety net as anyone else.

I hope the doctor you're seeing on Monday can give you some answers
and some hope... but life isn't over.

Hugs back at you-- DON'T PANIC. I know that sounds stupid, but it will
certainly make everything worse. DO NOT allow yourself to embark on a
mental chain reaction from your current troubles down a slippery slope to
total ruin. We are sending you abundant, deep, grunty, snorty, ridiculous
Dante purrs for you to keep your cool, take lots of deep breaths, and plan
your next move. We are thinking of you.

I can understand why you are scared but, until you see a Doctor and get a
proper diagnosis, the mind can do terrible things. Looking things up on the
net can be good or...........not. Will be praying that you are wrong.

Of course you are scared, thats only natural.

From what I"ve read, there are effective treatments. Not cures, but
treatments to make things more bearable.

Here's purring that you can get through this and there's a light at the end
of the tunnel for you.
