Default Ceiling Cat?

These past few days, every time I lift up Caliban he stares up into the
ceiling. Just now he was sitting on my arm (ooph), when he suddenly
started staring up into the corner. He left my arm (aah, relief) and
jumped to a small bookshelf I have standing in the corner. Stood on his
back feet and craned up towards the ceiling.

I don't know, either he's found religion or I'm having some bad ceiling
greeblings lately.

Have you recently read a ghost story or seen an eerie movie? I ask
because cats always know when you've read or watched something creepy.
Then they do that thing where they stare intently over your shoulder,
or in Caliban's case, acting like something supernatural is in the
ceiling. He's just messing with your head - standard cat entertainment.

The Mothership may be beaming instructions. I'd be a tad concerned since
Caliban tends to be rather mischeivous

I tell you, it's the mothership calling.

My first thought is mice. In the ceiling it could be a squirrel. My
two fur kids would be sleeping on my lap and both wake, jump down and
run, then sit facing the wall that backed on the garage. A mouse trap
placed in the garage soon solved and ended the strange behavior.

Either the mothership or in our case, some carpenter bees or whatever
they're called setting up housekeeping in our wall!
