Sadie dog was not allowed to go celebrate the Shiva at Auntie Debbies house.
As she sits at home she is thinking that, the community has purred so hard for so many of late. Now, we are all purring for Sammy to return to Uncle Dan's house where he belongs. We will all continue purring until Uncle Dan tells us Sammy is home safely. |

Wascal and Bear port in to sit with Sadie dog. They join her in sitting Shiva. Bear would like to play with the nice new doggie but Wascal has told him to sit and be quiet and he listens to his friend. -- Will in New Haven |

Isn't Shiva a HIndu god or goddess?

Brahma is the creator, Vishnu the preserver and Shiva the destroyer, with no (or very little) perjorative connotation. There is at least one Hindu tradition/belief that holds Shiva the most important God. In early traditions, Shiva had the name Rudra and was the God of the hunt and weather. The Hebrew term which is used for the mourning period in Judaism is not related to the Sanskrit word as the two languages are not related. -- Will in New Haven |

"Stampir" wrote in message ... Isn't Shiva a HIndu god or goddess? In this instance it is the Hebrew word for "seven" and pronounced (more or less) "shivah". It denotes the seven days of mourning. -- Purrs, Mme. I didn't have a clue until Debbie mentioned it when her Mother died. I went
and looked up, with Dan's help, on the net. Just wanted to try and do something to show we were thinking of her. I have learned more new things in the past couple of years just by being on these two groups. "Stampir" wrote in message ... "Granby" wrote in message ...
