I guess all people have to go on is the word of the pet food industry, an
industry that makes $25 billion dollars a year. That's what I like about a
homemade diet, that I know the source and quality of the ingredients. I
know
exactly what's in my cats' food.

Lauren, unless you planted and farmed all of the ingredients yourself you
don't
know exactly what the source and quality of ingredients is that you use.

I do know the source of the ingredients. I don't have to grow everything
myself to have sources.

OK, WHICH premium pet food are you referring to?

Purina, and I have the reports from Mann Labs in Mississauga to
confirm this was what was found in the food along with over 20 other
metals.

Since you have the report handy you won't mind giving us the exact
levels of those "other 20 metals" will you. And of course the source
where this information was published. Otherwise all we have (AGAIN) is
your "claims" which have lately been found to be mostly false. Time to
put up or shut up Martin.

confirm this was what was found in the food along with over 20 other
metals.

Yes, Lauren, in 1995 vomitoxin was found in the wheat screenings used
in the pet foods. The FDA did investigate but not out of concern for
the more then 150 dogs who became ill after eating Nature's Recipe.
They investigated because of human health concerns. Screenings are
the end of the milling process, the garbage left over from processing
wheat for human consumption.

The second case was in 1998 when at least 25 dogs died from
aflatoxins. The company involved was Doane Products that makes at
least fifty brands including Ol' Roy.

Makes me wonder all the times my cats threw up and I thought maybe they had a
hairball what really caused it. I used to feed Purina. I still have a red dye
stain on my carpet from where one of my cats threw up. Nothing will take the
stain out.

pets care but because it gives the owner's the feeling that this is
real red meat that is going into the foods.
