Default Shamrock is too smart for me

I thought I had posted this, but see that i didn't, so enjoy.

The other day I was peeling some shrimp for tempura. Shamrock LOVES
shrimp and can detect the smell no matter how little I cook. I put the
peels in the trashcan to take out later after cleaning the kitchen. My
trashcan is one of those motion sensor ones that detects your hand is
close and automatically opens for 5 seconds, then closes. Well,
Shamrock smelled the peels in the trash and got up on the paper shredder
that sits on the floor next to the trashcan (unplugged when not in use)
and figured out that his head was the right height to trigger the motion
sensor and the lid opened. I was laughing so hard at his discovery of
this that I was almost hyperventilating! Needless to say the trash went
out earlier than planned. lol

The funny thing was that he slept while I cooked it, and while I ate it,
so I didn't even have a moocher at my feet begging for shrimp for a
change. It was later that he figured out the smell of shrimp.

Is that a BCT aka Shmogg award? lol Maybe it only qualifies if he
managed to dig into the trash in between the lid opening and closing.
Hell, I think given enough time he'd figure that out.
