I don't know if it's because Ben had to rebuild my computer and went from
IE7 to IE8, but since them all my "log in" pages keep logging me out like
every 5 minutes. I have to keep logging in and logging in and it's a PITA.
Has anyone else had this problem and solved it?

I tried it, but I just don't like it. Old people are creatures of habit, I
guess.

I surprised nobody immediately posted "firefox is old hat; get google chrome!"

you might try doing a google search for something like
"facebook ie8 prevent autologout"

http://www.technologyquestions.com/t...og-me-out.html
http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/...ity-issue.aspx

I think switching browsers would be a lot easier.

I don't use google to search any more - it downloaded too many viruses. I
switched to Norton Safe Search.

You're insane. There are no viruses on any google page.

All norton is good for is making a system run like it is a 10
year old weezer -- ie making a 1GB dual core 3ghz machine run like a
P3 with 128M of ram.

Then you're missing today's Google doodle, which is wonderful.

Off to look at it myself.

Back.

I knew it was going to be "Imagine"! I guess that's his best-known
song. It's a good song, but I'm royally sick of it after hearing it
all the time.

But it was a nice tribute. And wow - he would've been 70! Who could
ever have, ahem, imagined that?

Well, yeah, I am insane, that's a given. But every time I went to google I
was submerged in pop-ups and after the first time it did that the viruses
started burgeoning, culminating in the need for a new hard drive - make of
that what you may.

I'm sorry you don't approve of my software, but I'm not a computer maven and
I use whatever Ben sets up for me to use (which is whatever will create the
least work for him if/when I break it).

Since I'm in bed most of the day, I have no pressing need to go anywhere or
do anything, so the time aspect doesn't bother me as much as my computer
turning itself off every 5 minutes or so.
