Dear group

I have read *all* your reponses to me, and I thank you all and wish I could
reply to everyone. You are all just so kind sensitive folks.

I wish I wasn't so tired but I guess it's par for the course. It takes me
ages to do my chickens and geese in the morning as it hurts to walk, I can
feed and water them but not clean them out, which now needs doing. I'm
going to try and do some of them tomorrow.

Kitty needs grooming too, although she is a short hair, she cannot now get
out the underhair and what's more, she hates it to be done although feels
better afterwards. Last time she slashed me to bits, so I'll have to find
some help this time.

This afternoon, I laid on the settee for a while, slightly on my side.
Boyfriend came and laid on my ribcage, doing his best to be a nurse cat. He
kept it up for about an hour. This is a very shy cat.
He is darling, and more. He is truly special.
Kitty doesn't want to know. She is all gimme gimme gimme and after her bad
start I suppose I can't blame her

He is a wonderful nursecat! :-) I expect KFC is just letting him do the
work for the time being.

Continued purrs from here for your strength to continue..... clucks to
the chickens and geese too :-)

(((((Christina)))))

I'm a week behind reading the group, so just found out about your
illness and prognosis. After reading the first post about your hspital
stay I scrolled down and read all the updates. I'm glad that members
of the group on your side of the pond can ease your mind that homes
can be found for BF and KFC, and hope your homes can also be found for
your birds. If you're like me that would be a MAJOR concern, and
knowing that they'll be looked after should be a great comfort.

Sending mega purrs your way that you'll wake from the surgery and be
given GOOD news. Please keep us updated, and feel free to vent/rant.

This is going to sound wrong, possibly, but right now you need to figure
out what is really important to you. Might I suggest that you arrange
with some one to take care of the chickens. Maybe through your
newsgroup over there. The chickens, though delicate in their own way,
aren't as important as you are. Then you may want to see if your friend
who was so good with KFC before is willing to either groom her or help
you groom her.

Next, love on Boyfriend. He knows something is wrong and he really
loves you and wants to help you all he can. He's a special cat and
wants to be your friend.

Last but not least, KFC may seem indifferent, but have you ever thought
about the fact that she's probably been hurt before you took her in and
is afraid that if she lets you know that she loves you and cares that
she might get hurt again. Sorta like a lot of people I know. KFC loves
you very much, or she wouldn't have hung around the way she did. She's
a sweetie hiding behind a GOW (Grumpy Old Woman) exterior. My Tanada is
like that too. She's been clinging to me since we got in last night.

Pam S. listening to all the purrs and healing thoughts winging your way

.

Kitty's, like people, sometimes don't quite know how to show their feelings.
KFC is old and independant, but there is no way she would be such a fixture
in your home if she didn't care. BF is a truly special friend. You must know
by now that these cats were sent to help you. Someone knew you needed an
immediate family to love you in their strange and beautiful ways. I continue
to pray for you.

Heh. Why is that then? I defy her to chicken-whisper my 12lb Speckled
Sussex cock, Attila. He is pure evil.
I am just beginning to recover from the shock of it all. It was all so
totally unexpected.
I've been busy trying to sort out the chickens and geese and share them
between my friends while I am in hospital and recuperating.
I got the last call that I needed tonight, from my friend, Stephen. It was
Stephen that first gave me eggs to hatch around 1990 that started me on the
rare breeds path. I happen to know that he has only a few chickens now, and
has some spare pens and runs.

He's a politician and is very busy right now as we have a general election
here on 5th May. I told him what he needed to have for his share. All my
Lakenfelders, three cocks with hens, all kept separately, and a spare Lakie
cock and a spare Sicilian Buttercup cock.
So he said fine, and after 5 May he'll have to make a couple of pens for the
spare cockerels.
My friend June is taking the geese and some of the Appenzellers and my
Barnevelder bantams, which only leaves safe fox-proof houses that can be
serviced once a day by my neighbour, Stan and he will feed the cats.
I think I have got it all covered now for the moment for my hospital stay
and recovery. I intend to come home after 8 weeks at my aunt's and resume
their care.
If I should die during my operation - I'm fairly sure I won't but I am
covering all eventualities here - my friend June will sort out what is here
poultry wise and Helen and Debbie will need to kick in swiftly for the two
cats.
However, I intend to beat this thing and live for a long time yet and
torment you all on the group..you can't get rid of me that easily.

Fully expect you to do just that. Don't disappoint me.
