Oh God! She's back!

Sarsi's not stupid. ;-) She is in fact the most intelligent cat to have ever owned me. I still remember when she was about 12 weeks old and she worked out how to open a bag of kitten kibble, then how to curl her paw to scoop out then that if she wet her paw first she would get more kibble out with each scoop! She managed about a quarter of a large bag before we spotted her in action and put the bag in a cupboard... She then learnt to open the cupboard door! Cecilia has completely stunned us- we got a call last night from her saying she had arranged for the tissue viability nurse to come at 1.30 next Tuesday! It's not the usual one Dave sees then again continuity of care is a concept that we've only read about..... Lesley Slave of the Fabulous Furballs |

Now THAT'S what I call ingratitude
Last night-an old friend of Dave's who happened to have to be in London (he lives in Edinburgh) arranged to meet Dave in the "Bells" along with some other of his friends from the Fortean Times ;list so of course let's ignore the fact that I have been off sick for 2 days some sort of tummy bug- seems to have passed and if I am honest I probably could have made it in Friday but I just wanted to make sure I shook it completely I now have to persuade Dave that as his friend can make his way down from Edinburgh and specially select a meeting place 5 minutes from us then surely despite your hay fever/cold you could make an effort? So he did and had a great time- we both did Now consider this... Dave- around pretty much most of the time- occasional source of ham and skritchies Lesley- Carts food and litter from the shops. Buys cat toys. Brushes Sarsi with zoom groom (Dave can't grip it properly). Cleans water and food dishes and fills same. Scoops cat litter. Empties and washes trays. Refills litter tray and carts the heavy bags of damp litter down to the bins. Makes special trips to vet for Hills S/D -worries that she gets them stuff they like. Buys ham. Also good for a nibble of chicken when making her sandwiches for work. Plays with toys and offers skritchies When we got back- guess who the pair of them were all over? Ungrateful little so and so's Lesley Slave of the Fabulous Furballs |

Ungrateful little so and so's I get up at 6:30 AM to let Kayla and Jake and Molly out, and to feed them and take care of their needs. I spend most of the day involved with all three of them. I operate the brush and the doors, provide the toys and rides to the park. And throw a ball or Frisbee about 1,000 times. But at night I go to bed first. (Charlie sleeps in a LOT later than 6:30). So he is in charge of evening treats and bedtime for the fur kids. You can see the change over in attitude about three in the afternoon, as they start to cozy up to him. By the time I go to bed, Kayla is on the sofa with her chin on his knee looking at him with adoration. Jo |

Is this revenge
Hi
After our dear district nurses vanished for a time then resufaced Dave asked for the tissue viability nurse to come round, which did not go down at all well with Cecilia But she did call her round....and she came and was utterly horrified at how little of her original care plan had been carried out-and completely sympathised with the fact that due to not knowing when they were coming round Dave couldn't have a bath or shower and could not believe how little the nurses had come round in fact she slipped Dave a complaintd form before,Cecilia turned up. So the score is that they will come round every Tuesday meaning that come next week Dave can finally have a bath the night before alas after we had told several nurses that we were worried about his other leg and nothing was done it has now become clear that there is a potential ulcer on that side so he has to have that dressed as well He is dreaming about it even as I type this The next stage is to get a plastic waterproof dressing to wear in the shower and to organise proper stockings and one of those glide things so we can take the stocking off and on if we can do that then the nurses will come once every 2 months to make sure things are okay But Cecilia is well and truly ****ed off so I wouldn't want to be Dave next Tuesday Lesley Slave of the Fabulous Furballs |
